The bill for the regulation of teleworking was approved by the Cabinet, said the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Yiannis Panayiotou after the end of the session on Thursday, adding that the bill will be forwarded to the Parliament.
The bill, he said, is extremely important for utilizing technology, which will provide the potential for greater flexibility at work.
The Minister expressed his expectation that through the Parliament's planning it will be feasible to discuss the bill as soon as possible so that it can be brought to the Plenary and regulate the working environment in relation to this issue.
When asked if the process in the Parliament will be completed before it is closed, the Minister of Labour stated that if the discussion starts before the summer period, "that will be very positive. And if it is possible to complete the discussion by then, that will be ideal."
Otherwise, he said that the discussion will continue in the fall and expressed his certainty that ''through dialogue we will be able to reach a conclusion, which will lead the bill to the Plenary and it will be able to be adopted."
