It is expected that by the 24 August 2001 final decisions will be taken on the proposals to be submitted to the Labour Ministry's arbitration suggestions towards resolving the difference which arose between Cyprus Airways engineers' union ASYSEKA and management of the company concerning the upgrade of certain posts. The union is expected to receive the written response to queries raised on the proposition of the Ministry and final decisions will be made during the union's general meeting on Friday. The union has made a commitment not to publicise the Ministry's clarifications until union members have been informed.
The deadline for submission of a response to the Ministry's proposals by both sides officially ended today, but Cyprus Airways have requested an extension until the 24 August by which time all board members will be back from their vacation.
