Bouygues Bâtiment International Cyprus Branch, a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, has just delivered the new Pafos International Airport.

The turnkey design-build project, delivered on time and on budget, was carried out for the Hermes Airports Ltd consortium.*

After 27 months of works, Bouygues Bâtiment International Cyprus Branch has completed the design and construction of:

- a terminal capable of handling 2.7 million passengers a year,
- a 940-bay surface car park,
- external works (roads, networks, landscaping).

Designed by the architecture firm Pascall+Watson, the Pafos terminal has a surface area of 18,000 sq. metres and is equipped with all the necessary facilities for smooth operation, such as baggage sorting, security systems, passenger information systems, check-in systems, etc.

The terminal's design pays tribute to Cyprus's culture and history, expressed through a concept named "Sense of Place". Constant care has been taken to find environment-friendly technical solutions, especially for lighting and air-conditioning.

Over 400 staff worked on the project at its peak.

It is the first concession contract in Cyprus, concluded in July 2005 for a 25-year period.

Pafos International Airport is a perfect illustration of Bouygues Bâtiment International's capability to design and build a major project within cost and deadline. Work on the Larnaka Airport project, with a capacity of 7.5 million passengers, is continuing on schedule for planned delivery to the Hermes Airports Ltd consortium on 30 June 2009.

* The members of the Hermes Airports consortium are: Bouygues Bâtiment International (22%), Egis Projects (20%), Cyprus Trading Corporation (11.3%), Hellenic Mining (11.3%), Vancouver Airport Services (11%), Aer Rianta International (11%), Iacovou Brothers Construction (5.7%), Charilaos Apostolides Public Ltd (5.7%), CCI Nice Côte d’Azur (2%).
