The Cyprus Tourist Agents Association (ACTA) and the T/C Tourist Agents Association (KITSAB) decided to support the joint promotion of tourism in the occupied territories.
According to an ACTA announcement, the two Associations decided that should cooperate in order to solve the existing technical problems in the sector. “The small island of Cyprus must promote a single policy in tourism and must avoid the dividing and competitive tactics that do not promote the island’s interest”, the announcement reported. The security problem was an issue of discussion between ACTA and KITSAB and many efforts have been made so as to regulate the issue and satisfy the foreign tour operators.
ACTA expressed its disapproval on the residence of tourists in hotels that belong to the G/C.
