“CYTA will pay the fine imposed by the Competition Protection Committee for the violation of the Law on the Protection of Competition and its denial to comply with its obligations to provide all the required information and data during the sudden on-the-spot investigation at its office on February 22 and 23”, CYTA Chairman, Mr. Kremmos told CNA on Tuesday.
According to Mr. Kremmos, CYTA hopes to secure a temporary suspension decree, stressing that the Authority cooperated with the CPC in the conduct of the investigation.
As regards to the professional computer of the CYTA General Manager, Mr. Kremmos said that the Authority is exceptionally sensitive in this sector. “We must protect our personal rights and all the information concerning each one of us in the telecommunications”, he said.
“We cannot order the General Manager to open his e-mail when he talks about the protection of his personal rights. We have no right to do that to any CYTA employee either”, he concluded.
