Tourists in Greece using airlines and connecting to cruise ships will be able to use a new check-in service at Athens International Airport that links with the port of Piraeus through ground service providers Skyserve and Swissport Greece.

The aim is to expedite the check-in processes at the airport for cruise ship passengers by letting them get to their next destination faster and better plan their time in Athens, it was said, leaving time for short excursions.

Through the procedure, cruise passengers arriving in Athens will board a shuttle bus directly to be transported to their cruise ship, their luggage put on trucks that will be adjacent to their aircraft. It begins Sept. 7.

It will work the same way for those who want to leave Greece by plane after their cruises, allowing them to have their flight boarding passes when they disembark from the ship at the port and luggage taken to the airport and scanned for security.
