According to CYSTAT data released on Thursday, tourist arrivals in April 2005 dropped 4% to 183,561 against 191,251 in the corresponding month of 2004. However, tourist arrivals for January – April 2005 showed an increase of 3.8% to 452,132 against 435,406 in the corresponding period of 2004.
Despite an increase in tourist arrivals by 10% in January – March 2005, tourist revenues recorded a slight increase of 2.8%. So did inflation in the same period. This means that Cyprus had no benefit for every additional tourist that attracted in the first 3 months of 2005.
