Total petroleum product sales in 2023 recorded a slight increase of 0.4% compared to 2022, according to Cyprus Statistical Service, while sales at petroleum service stations showed an annual increase of 1.9%.
Specifically, according to the Statistical Service, aviation kerosene supplies increased by 15.2%, while increases were also recorded in sales of heavy fuel oil (41.5%), asphalt (14.5%), unleaded motor gasoline (4.7%) and road diesel (4.4%).
On the other hand, decreases were observed in supplies of gasoil for marine use (-28.0%) and in sales of kerosene (-27.2%), heating oil (-12.7%), light fuel oil (-7.8%) and LPG (-6.2%).
In 2023 the sales from filling stations reached 666.793 tonnes, recording a slight rise of 1,9% compared to 2022.
Moreover, according to the Statistical Service, in December 2023, total sales of petroleum products reached 119,917 tonnes, an increase of 1.5% compared to December 2022.
There was an increase in the supply of aviation kerosene (15.9%), as well as in sales of heavy and light fuel oil (18.4% and 13.4% respectively) and asphalt (7.4%).
On the other hand, there was a decrease in supplies of marine gasoil (-10.6%), as well as in sales of heating gasoil (-5.1%), LPG (-2.7%), road diesel (-2.6%) and motor gasoline (-1.6%).
As regards in particular sales from petrol stations, according to the Statistical Office, these fell by 0.7% to 58,967 tonnes.
Total sales of petroleum products in December 2023 showed an increase of 0.6% compared to November 2023.
Kerosene (104.2%) and heating oil (47.7%) sales increased while, on the contrary, aviation kerosene supplies (-21.7%), as well as road diesel (-8.0%) and motor gasoline (-0.1%) sales decreased.
The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of December 2023 increased by 2,2% compared to the end of the previous month.
