UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will meet Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash on 6 September 2002 in Paris, with an aim to review the Cyprus peace talks and chart a course for the way ahead.
As the CNA reports, the UN Peace-Keeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) issued on Wednesday a press release saying that UN chief's special advisor on Cyprus Alvaro de Soto called this morning "on H.E. Mr Glafcos Clerides, the Greek Cypriot leader, and H.E. Mr Rauf Denktash, the Turkish Cypriot leader, to convey the Secretary-General's invitation to meet him in Paris on 6 September 2002, to take stock and see if a course can be charted for the way ahead. Both leaders accepted the Secretary-General's invitation," the UNFICYP press release added.
