Cypriot Ministers presented their action plans to the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides during the day-long informal cabinet meeting held in the presidential summer residence in the Troodos mountain on Friday.

According to a written statement issued by the Government Spokesman, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the meeting began at 09:00 local time Friday and wrapped up at 23:00 with the participation of the Cabinet members and the Commissioners of Gender Equality and the Environment.

Letymbiotis said the President outlined the “targets set by the government in the coming period as well as the big reforms that will be promoted.”

He noted that the aim of the meeting was to coordinate actions ahead of the discussion of the 2024 state budget, the first to be submitted by the government outlining the direction of the new administration, ahead of the coming parliamentary period.

The basic pillar of the government planning is the implementation of all benchmarks included the National Recovery and Resilience plan, as well as the preparation for the assumption of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026, Letymbiotis added.

“All Cabinet members and Commissioners outlined their action plans for their portfolios, while a thorough discussion and exchange of view on all issues was held,” he added, noting “that the action plans, which constitute a road map for every Ministry, will be publicly presented in the context of government accountability.”

As he noted, the government’s vision remains to modernise the state through the implementation of contemporary reforms and the application of policies which improve citizens' everyday life.

He referred finally to “a modern digital state with a stable and robust economy, with simplified and direct procedures which serve and facilitate the citizens while creating an attractive business environment attracting productive investments.”
