Tourist arrivals in September 2005 recorded a drop. According to CYSTAT data released on Monday, tourist arrivals fell by 0.2% compared to the corresponding month of 2004.
The number of tourists that visited the island in September reached 302,833 against 303,506 in September 2004.
This drop is attributable to the reduced tourist arrivals from Greece and the United Kingdom by 26.6% and 1.6% respectively.
On the other hand, tourist arrivals from Russia showed a sharp increase of 49.9%, from Sweden 12.3% and from Germany 6%.
In January-September 2005, tourist arrivals increased by 6.4% to 1,997,306 against 1,877,260 in the corresponding period of 2004.
