Cypriot Minister of Energy George Papanastasiou will meet next Thursday officials from the French company Nexans, which has been awarded the contract to construct the sub-sea interconnector cable linking Cyprus and Greece as part of the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) project.
Speaking to CNA, Papanastasiou said during the meeting, Nexans will brief the Cypriot authorities over the progress of the project implementation, as the cable construction linking Cyprus with Greece is the largest contract of the whole project.
According to Nexans, the cost of the subsea cable linking Cyprus with Greece amounts to €1.43 billion, whereas the total cost of the GSI is estimated at €1.9 billion.
Furthermore, the representatives of the French company are scheduled to meet with Cyprus Electricity Regulating Authority (CERA).
