Cyprus is present in this year's World Travel Market in London with 55 exhibitors. The three-day event that opened today, attracts stakeholders from the global tourism industry, in search of opportunities and collaborations, aiming to promote each country's local product.
Tourism boards from Cyprus' various districts, tour operators, hotels and tourist associations represent Cyprus in the exhibition this year. Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis, will meet with top air carriers and tour operators from the UK, as well as with his counterparts from other countries, on the sideline of the event, and he will attend the Ministerial Summit themed "How AI affects the development of tourism."
Today, the Cyprus kiosks hosted a cooking event presenting Cypriot dishes, and a bartending event with drinks flavored with the landmark Cypriot wine, Commandaria.
The World Travel Market in London is considered an important event for the Cypriot tourism industry, as this year Cyprus had so far 1,129,000 tourist arrivals from the UK, a number increased by 5% compared to the first nine months of 2023.
