The Cabinet on Friday decided to close four crossing points as a precaution against COVID19.

Speaking to the press following the Cabinet meeting, which convened for a second day, the Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou said that the crossing points to remain closed are those of Ledra Street, Astromeritis, Lefka and Deryneia and the decision will be put in force as of Saturday morning at 600 am local time.

The Minister said that the UN and the British Bases have been informed about the decision, which he added, is taken for the protection of both communities.

Health Minister also said that additional personnel will be placed at the checkpoints in Agios Dometios, Ledra Palace and Pyrgos.
