The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 82 patients are receiving treatment in state hospitals, 34 of whom in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, 44,513 tests were carried out and 75 new coronavirus cases were detected (positivity rate 0.17%). Since the outbreak of the pandemic 72,234 people have tested positive in Cyprus.
No deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, thus their number remains at 357, 238 men (67%), and 119 women (33%). Their median age is 78.
Out of the 34 patients who are in a critical condition, 20 are intubated. In the Famagusta General Hospital there are 14 patients, 36 are in the Nicosia General Hospital, 23 in the Limassol General Hospital, 4 in the Larnaka General Hospital and 5 are being treated in the Makario Hospital in Nicosia.
The 44,513 tests were carried out with the PCR method (4,403) and the antigen rapid test method (40,110). The 75 new cases were found as follows: 11 from contact tracing, 3 from samples taken at the airports, 10 from tests done after private initiative, 3 from samples taken at the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 3 from antigen rapid tests done in private laboratories and pharmacies, and 45 from antigen rapid tests. No cases were found from 119 tests done after GP referrals.
