Retail trade turnover registers gains both in volume and value in March

Retail trade registered an annual increase in March 2021 both in volume and in value, according to data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service.

However, for the first quarter of 2021 the volume index of retail trade marked an annual increase of 0.5% whereas the value index in retail trade declined by 2.0% reflecting the continuing impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Cystat, in March this year the turnover value index in retail trade rose by 8.6% compared with March 2020, while the turnover volume index rose by 10.6% compared with March 2020.
