Retail trade in Cyprus recovered in 2021 following the decline of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to data released on Tuesday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, throughout 2021 the retail trade increased by 9.1% in value and by 6.6% in volume, compared with an annual reduction of 3.4% and 1.9% respectively in 2020.
In December 2021 the index rose by 6.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year in value, while the index for volume for the same month increased by 1.2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
