Markets enjoy gains

The markets are going up on Friday. The Cyprus Stock Exchange enjoys gains, influenced by the performance of the ASE, after the approval of the new austerity measures yesterday and the upcoming EU Summit on Sunday.

The European markets record gains too, at the same time that the European leaders examine the use of resources of $1.3 trillion to ease the debt crisis in the euro area.

The CSE general index soars 4.30% to 430.39 points, while FTSE is up 4.12% to 148.96 points.

The trading volume stands at €345.4 thousand with CPB being the most active stock of the day with €166.9 thousand. CPB in the CSE climbs 6.38% to €0.300, while in Athens the stock surges 4.58% to €0.297 with a turnover of €490.9 thousand.

BOCY in the CSE puts on 3.70% to €1.12 concentrating €126.2 thousand of the volume while in Athens the share adds 3.70% to €1.12 absorbing €927.5 thousand of the volume.

HB remains unchanged at €0.430.

Overall, 7 securities are going up, 4 fall and 1 remains unchanged.

ASE

In Athens, the general index goes up 2.95% to 764.69 points. Similarly, FTSE soars 3.62% to 303.95 points.

The trading volume amounts to €20.2 million.

National Bank is the most marketable stock of the day with €6.5 million. NBG climbs 4.40% to €1.91, Alpha Bank jumps 4.72% to €1.11 and Eurobank soars 4.72% to €0.760.

In Europe, London puts on 0.81%, Paris adds 1.04% and Frankfurt gains 0.69%.
