Cyprus police booked 18 citizens and one establishment owner, during the last 24 hours, for violations of measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A police spokesperson told CNA that a total of 2,487 were conducted island-wide.
In Nicosia the police carried out 1.069 checks and reported one citizen and one establishment owner.
In Limassol they conducted 253 checks and handed out fines to 7 citizens. In Larnaca they carried out 222 checks and booked 2 citizens.
In Paphos the police carried out 171 checks and booked 3 citizens. In Famagusta they carried out 388 checks and reported 5 citizens, while in Morphou they conducted 157 checks without reporting anyone.
The Traffic Department carried out 224 checks without handing out any fines.
The Port Police conducted 3 checks without reporting anyone.
