Interactive art workshop "De-mapping the familiar: A Journey Beyond Boundaries"
Sunday 17 November at 11:00.
The workshop will take place at the Foundation's Georgios and Nefeli Tziapra Pierides Archaeological Museum, is designed for young teens and adults, and combines the imaginative realms of surrealism and cubism with practical creative practices.
Through this workshop, participants will embark on a journey of discovery, exploring how art can transform the familiar into the fantastic. The session begins with an engaging introduction to the surrealist and cubist movements, examining iconic artists and their ground-breaking works.
Participants will then dive into a creative exercise, reimagining the map of Cyprus through collage and painting techniques. This process encourages them to question the boundaries between reality and imagination, challenging their perceptions and unlocking new avenues of creativity. By the end of the workshop, participants will have produced their unique artworks, which will be displayed in a mini exhibition, sparking discussions on the endless possibilities of future perspectives.
