The Levant Energy Forum will take place on Thursday 23 June at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia Cyprus. The Forum aims to facilitate knowledge exchange between interested stakeholders in the Levant Basin.
“The Levant Basin Province is comparable to some of the other large provinces around the world,” said Brenda Pierce USGS Energy Resources Program Coordinator, in prepared remarks. “Its gas resources are bigger than anything we have assessed in the United States”. The Levant Basin Province also holds an estimated 1.7 billion barrels of undiscovered, recoverable oil.
His Excellency Fuad Siniora, former Prime Minister of Lebanon will present the keynote speech at the Levant Energy Forum at the University of Cyprus on Thursday 23 June where he will be joined by Mr Antonis Paschalides, Cyprus Commerce & Industry Minister. Additionally Solon Kassinis, Energy Service Director in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism and Wissam Zahabi, Senior Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Lebanon will be joining the panel.
Maersk Oil and Shell are amongst the knowledge event’s international industry partners, and they will exchange views on the outlook for energy with their counterpart, Costas Ioannou Executive Chairman of the Natural Gas Public Company of Cyprus.
A unique feature of this important commemorative forum, which will be produced by TheGulfIntelligence.com, will be a moderated discussion at each table-of-10 between executives from international energy companies and national companies on the forthcoming opportunities, issues and challenges facing the energy industry in the Levant basin.
