With the slogan Blood Donation Day: A Day of Life, PwC Cyprus organised on Monday, 28 November 2011 the annual blood donation day for the support of the Nicosia General Hospital blood bank at the Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos offices of the organisation. The blood donation in Limassol will be held on 9 January 2012.
For the second consecutive year, the blood donation was organised the same day as the annual Unicef Christmas bazaar, celebrating in this way the values of giving and volunteerism that characterise the organisation.
In his address, Mr Evgenios Evgeniou, Managing Partner of PwC noted that “In PwC, social responsibility is integral to what we do; an inherent part of our core business. We are sensitive to the needs of the society in which we live and work, offering our support where is needed through voluntary participation and contribution. Every year we spend a significant amount of our time in voluntary activities and it is worth mentioning that in 2011 a total of 80 PwC members offered 183 hours in voluntary work contributing to the general welfare of the society”.
Mrs Stala Kioupi, Senior Medical Officer, Medical and Public Health Services at the Ministry of Health who attended the blood donation in Nicosia explained that such initiatives are vital to the health sector and thanked PwC for its continuous contribution.
