Revenue from tourism reached €407.9 million in October 2024, recording an increase of 17.7% compared with the corresponding month last year, Cyprus’ Statistical Service said on Tuesday. In October 2024, average expenditure per person was €888.47 while tourists from the United Kingdom were the largest tourist market.

Based on the results of the Passengers Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism reached €407.9 million in October 2024, recording an increase of 17.7% compared to the corresponding month last year (€346.5 mn). Between January and October 2024, revenue from tourism is estimated at €2,983.8 million compared to €2,802.6 mn in the corresponding period of 2023, recording an increase of 6.5%, it said.

It also said that the average expenditure per person was €888.47 in October 2024 compared to €812.95 in October 2023, recording an increase of 9.3%.

Tourists from the United Kingdom, which according to the Statistical Service, it was the largest tourist market with 36.3% of the total tourist arrivals in October 2024, spent on average €114.99 per day, while tourists from Poland - the second largest market during the month in question (8.1%) - spent on average €85.41.

Tourists from Germany (the third largest market with 7.6%), spent on average €109.22 per day.

According to the Statistical Service’s data, in total 459,106 tourist arrivals were recorded in October this year, with average length of stay 8.4 days while the daily expenditure per person was at €105.77.
