The Competition Protection Committee is expected to have a meeting with all the Cyprus pay-TV players on Wednesday afternoon to state their views on CYTA’s request for and individual negative certification.
CYTA, which supports that the provisions of its agreement with LTV are legal, has requested for an exemption for a specific period of time since “the broadband services are new in the Cyprus market”.
“If the remaining pay-TV companies (NEDMED, Multichoice, Athina Sat, Primetel etc) accept CYTA’s request, CYTA and LTV will be given the green light to start their cooperation”, sources told StockWatch.
