In an announcement released in the afternoon, the Central Bank Governor, Christodoulos Christodoulou replied to earlier statements of Marfin Deputy Chairman, Andreas Vgenopoulos that the Central Bank published unverified information for a cartel between Marfin and Tosca Fund on the acquisition of the stake that HSBC held in Laiki Group. Mr. Christodoulou said that the Central Bank had to publicize the issue, which had been investigated thoroughly.
