One day before the Extraordinary General Meeting, which will discuss the approval of the Public Offer for the acquisition of Emporiki Bank, the Bank of Cyprus will announce the results for the first half of the year.
According to its announcement, the Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, July 27, 2006 to examine the six-month results. The results will be announced to the CSE and the press on the same day.
It is noted that the Bank of Cyprus’ profits in the first quarter of 2006 were shot to £37 million (against £16 million in the corresponding period of 2005). The Group expects that the net profits for 2006 will exceed the initial target of £120 million.
