Further to reports in the electronic press and in order to fully inform the investing public, Orphanides Public Company Ltd announces the following:
The Management of the Company is taking all necessary measures to continue with its trade activities. Those measures include the decision for the suspension of operation of 10 super markets due to significant shortage in commodities. The Company’s activities now focus on its 13 super markets operating on a national basis.
As mentioned in previous announcements, the Company expects the decisions of the banks, Cyprus Popular Bank and Bank of Cyprus mostly, as the main commercial banks with which we cooperate in relation to the appointment of receiver/administrator and the further support of the Company, decisions regarded as exceptionally critical.
The Company would also like to inform the investing public that from December 11, 2012 it has been registered in the Central Information Registry for cheques that have not been issued and paid.
