CPB: Clarification on voting rights by Dubai Financial, S. Ba’alawy, S. Basu and A. Vgenopoulos

Pursuant to Greek Law 3556/2007, Decision 1/434/3.7./2007 and Circular 33 of the Greek SEC and Cyprus Law 190(I) 2007, Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd announces that:
a. Dubai Financial Group informed the SEC and the Issuer via a letter dated 15/5/2008 that it has given a proxy to Soud Ba’alawy and Santaya Basu so that they exercise during the EGM dated 15.5.2008 at their sole discretion each one separately 147,313,676 voting rights that correspond to 147,313,676 shares of the Issuer, that is, 18.49% of the total share capital and voting Rights of the Issuer.
b. Soud Ba’alawy informed the SEC and the Issuer via a letter dated 15/5/2008 that he is entitled to exercise 147,313,676 voting rights, that is, 18.49% of the total share capital and voting Rights of the Issuer, powered by the proxies given by the shareholders of the Issuer. After the end of the General Meetings, the person above ceased to have the aforementioned voting rights.
c. Sayanta Basu Ba’alawy informed the SEC and the Issuer via a letter dated 15/5/2008 that he is entitled to exercise 147,313,676 voting rights, that is, 18.49% of the total share capital and voting Rights of the Issuer, powered by the proxies given by the shareholders of the Issuer. After the end of the General Meetings, the person above ceased to have the aforementioned voting rights.
d. Andreas Vgenopoulos informed the SEC and the Issuer via a letter dated 15/5/2008 that he is entitled to exercise 50,103,863 voting rights, that is, 6.29% of the total share capital and voting Rights of the Issuer, powered by the proxies given by the shareholders of the Issuer. After the end of the General Meetings, the person above ceased to have the aforementioned voting rights.
