19/5/2008 10:00
The Group of AQUA SOL HOTELS PUBLIC COMPANY LTD announces the interim management statement pursuant to Article 11 of the Transparency Requirements Law 2007 (N. 190(I) 2007).
The main activity of the Group in 2008, remains to be the operation of hotels in Cyprus and Greece.
There were no significant developments and transactions during the period as from 1/1/2008 until 19/5/2008 affecting the performance of the Group, except from the Group's ordinary activities.
The results of the first six-month period of 2008 are expected to be lower than the expected results for the second half of the year due to the seasonal fluctuations in the tourist industry of the countries where the Group mainly operates (Cyprus, Greece). The peak season of tourism in these destinations is the second half of the year and improved results are anticipated during this period.
In 2008 the Group continues its efforts to offer upgraded standard of services in its hotels, to continue its co-operation with existing tour operators and to develop co-operation with new tour operators, to adopt policies to contain costs in the light of anticipated income and to retain its profitable units while at the same time to reduce the number of its not satisfactorily profitable or loss making units.
Further analysis of the developments and the performance of the Group will be available with the announcement of the six-month results in August 2008.
