Marfin: Extension of period of acceptance of applications for new Capital Securities

Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd announces that in relation to the public offering of Capital Securities of up to €83,841,000 carried out via the Prospectus dated June 6, 2008, it decided to extend the period of acceptance of the applications until Friday, June 27, 2008 (instead of Wednesday, June 25, 2008). This decision, which has already been announced to the SEC, was taken so that there is sufficient time for the submission of the applications. It is noted that in the case of payments that will not be cleared by June 30, 2008, the application might be ignored.
It is emphasized that from Thursday, June 26, 2008 the way of payment “Use of product resulting from the acquisition by Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd of the Capital Securities of issue 2003 (Code: LGCS), which I/we hold”, will not be effective.
The revised timetable of the public offering of the Capital Securities of up to €83,841,000 is as follows:

Start of public offering: June 10, 2008
Expiry of public offering: June 27, 2008
Issue of Capital Securities of up to €83,841,000: June 30, 2008
Publication of result: July 9, 2008
Dispatch of allocation letters: July 11, 2008
