Finalization of cooperation agreement between CNP Assurances and Marfin for Marfin Insurance

Further to the announcement dated 22.7.2008, Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd announces the finalization of the long-term cooperation agreement between CNP Assurances (CNP) and MPB for the development of insurance activities in Greece and Cyprus via the MPB bank networks in Greece and Cyprus. This agreement includes the transfer of 50.1% of the share capital of “Marfin Insurance Holdings Ltd” from MPB to CNP and the reaching of a ten-year renewable excusive distribution agreement with the option to expand to other countries that MPB is active. Marfin Insurance Holdings Ltd holds 100% of Laiki CypriaLife (LCL – Life Insurance in Cyprus), Laiki Insurance (LI – General Insurance in Cyprus), Marfin Life (ML – Life Insurance in Greece) and Marfin Brokers (MB – Agency Insurance Activities in Greece).
