Orphanides replies to press report

Further to a press report dated February 17, 2012, Orphanides Public Company Limited would like to inform the investing public the following:
- According to the report and allegation of the website of “Kathimerini” newspaper, the Company has allegedly instructed an audit firm to have contacts and deliberations in order to arrange the suspension of collections by creditors. Those allegations are ungrounded since all transactions with creditors / partners of the Company are made directly with the administration and the competent officers of the Company.
- As for the allegations that the Company is in consultations with the Greek Group A.B Vassilopoulos for an acquisition and/or cooperation with large super market chain of the United Kingdom, the Company declares that there is no such possibility.
The Company, with 24 years of presence in retail trade, has access and contacts with Greek and foreign companies that are actively involved in the sector of trade for mutual cooperation, especially on quality and import of specialized goods issues.
Orphanides Public Company Limited proceeds with its development plans, deals with the impacts of the financial crisis effectively and expects that it will return to profits, as in the past 23 years.
