Tourist arrivals in April down 2.7%, up by 1.7% in first quarter

Tourist arrivals in Cyprus fell by 2.7% in April 2024, totaling 333,563 compared to 342,736 in the same month of 2023. However, for the period from January to April 2024, arrivals saw a 1.7% increase. In a written statement Tourism Deputy Minister Kostas Koumis said that the data indicate that Cyprus is meeting its targets despite adversities.

According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, arrivals from the United Kingdom constituted the primary source of tourism for April 2024, accounting for 35.3% (117,902) of total arrivals, followed by arrivals from Israel at 10.7% (35,673), Poland at 7.6% (25,250), Germany at 6.7% (22,510), and Greece at 3.9% (13,056).

In April 2024, 82.1% of visitors came for vacations, 9.4% for visiting friends or relatives, and 8.3% for business purposes. In comparison, for April 2023, 79.3% visited Cyprus for vacations, 14.5% for visiting friends or relatives, and 6.0% for business purposes.
