The University of Limassol (UoL) is delighted to announce that three first-year students from the BSc in Computing and Business Technologies and BSc in Economics programs, in collaboration with two external participants, have won the People’s Choice Award at the prestigious HACKTECH 2024 Hackathon. Their project garnered the highest number of votes from fellow participants, reflecting the innovation and creativity of the team.
About the Project
The team successfully conceptualized and developed an interactive map prototype designed to help users explore life in Limassol. Over an intense 36-hour hackathon, they delivered a fully functional prototype and presented it to a panel of judges.
A Remarkable Achievement
This accomplishment is a proud milestone for UoL, showcasing the talents of our undergraduate students who, at just 18 years old, have proven their ability to compete and excel at a national level. Winning an award at a leading hackathon in Cyprus highlights their potential as future innovators in the tech and business domains.
