Marfin Popular denies reports

With reference to a report in “Economy” inset of newspaper “Kyriakatiki Eleftherotypia (February 25, 2007) under the title “Interest of Marfin for Attica Bank”, Marfin Popular Bank announces that it is ungrounded. As for the alleged information according to which “at his meeting with Attica Bank Chairman, Mr. Kolintzas, Mr. Vgenopoulos expressed his interest for the acquisition of shares (10%) that the Greek Postal Savings Bank holds”, it is clarified that there has been no meeting between Mr. Vgenopoulos and Mr. Kolintzas on the issue.
