Marfin Popular: Acquisition of total share capital of Marfin Bank ATE by Marfin Financial

Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd announces that at the meeting held on April 3, 2007, the Board of Directors decided to acquire the total share capital of Marfin Bank ATE from Marfin Financial Group SA Holdings against the sum of €616,533,000. The price has been set on the basis of the evaluation report of audit firm “BOD Hellenic Audit Firm SA”, which was prepared for this purpose. The final agreement for the transfer above will be completed in the next ten days.
As for the capital structure and the issue of the required number of shares within the framework of the authorizations granted to the Board of Directors at the Extraordinary General Meting on March 12, 2007 and the Extraordinary General Meeting on October 31, 2006, the Board of Directors will continue its meeting on Thursday, April 12, 2007 and will take the relevant decision.
